Elganowo

This tiny village is situated only some 30 km south of Gdansk and is popular with golfers since nearby Postolowo has a splendid golf course, considered to be the best in Poland and the longest in Europe. It is easy to get to Elganowo from Gdansk by driving south along the 222 or 226 highways. Due to the international airport in Gdansk, Elganowo is accessible to golfers from European cities.

Elganowo TOURISM

Apart from the picturesque, well-maintained and challenging golf course in Postolowo, Elganowo is attractive for anyone who would like to spend time out riding horses, hiking and exploring the unspoilt nature of Kashubia and Kociewie, two neighbouring ethnographic regions known for their interesting folklore and beautiful countryside. Kashubia is even nicknamed the “Polish Switzerland” due to its picturesque lakes and hills. Among other interesting towns in the vicinity one can choose the three cities of Tri-city - Gdansk, Gdynia and Sopot, or even Malbork and Frombork. Other attractions of the area include the open-air ethnographic park in Wdzydze Kiszewskie, an archaeological reserve in Wesiory or the arboretum in Wirty.

GEOGRAPHY

The area of Elganowo is covered with mild hills characteristic of a post-glacial terrain. Near Elganowo is Lake Bronislaw and farther to the west the ever-scenic Wdzydzki Landscape Park and the Radunia River Gorge.
