Since this apartment is situated at Dlugi Targ, next to Green Gate, it is difficult to think of any better location in Gdansk. Artus Court, Neptune’s Fountain, and the Main Town Hall can all be seen by doing no more than leaning out of a window. The apartment is close to all other attractions in the old part of Gdansk, tourist information centre, water tram jetty, restaurants, and shops, while Gdansk Glowny railway station is only a few minute’s walk away. On one side of the apartment is a view over Dlugi Targ, busy with tourists, and on the side is a yard.
The apartment is on the second floor of a renovated Baroque bourgeois house from 1680, painted in turquoise, with an eagle flying up from the top of the facade that is also decorated with well-preserved reliefs of monsters, shells and fruit. At the ground level, and typical of old Gdansk terraces, there is a gallery and a shop selling souvenirs of amber. You enter the apartment from the Powroznicza Street side through the backyard, taking the creaky common staircase. The apartment consists of two sitting rooms with elegant leather foldout sofas. The room with the backyard view has a fully equipped kitchen annex, with two burner cookers, refrigerator, and an electric kettle. The rooms are large and high, with a peach decor that includes dark wooden furniture, wooden floors, stucco on the ceiling, lighted paintings, Tiffany style lamps, and soundproof windows. There is a choice of satellite TV and DVD on the large LCD monitor with Dolby Surround system. In the bathroom, you will find a shower cabin, washing machine, hairdryer, and ironing board. Parking near the apartment is quite limited, as it is located in a pedestrian zone. You can usually park on Granary Island, at the Novotel hotel for example, just a few minutes’ walk from the apartment.
