The hotel is located outside of the centre, in the north-western part of Gdynia, near the shipyard, ferry terminal, container harbour and railway. The Tri-city Landscape Park is close to the hotel. The Antares is situated close to the main Tri-city highway (Morska Street) and the Kwiatkowski Flyover. The hotel stands in the much calmer Komandorska Street, parallel to Morska Street. It takes 15 minutes to drive from the Antares to the centre of Gdynia, while the Tri-city Grabowek SKM train station is only 300 m away. From the hotel, you have a view of older and newer blocks.
While Antares was once a hostel for workers, it has since been completely redeveloped and painted orange outside and delicate pastel colours inside. The hotel is fenced in, and larches grow in front of it. Typically for the Start hotel chain, all singles and doubles as well as the lux rooms all have the same look – they are equipped with small bathrooms with showers, beds with metal bed heads, small desks, telephones, Internet access, and TV-sets with as many as 60 channels. The billiards room is arranged in an interesting way, with a cafe-bar and terrace, while there is a small shop at the reception and an Internet stand. Bicycles and newspapers are available free. The reception offers basic business services. New furnishings, convenient transport links, possibility of car parking without problems and reasonable prices mean this hotel is popular among those travelling on business.
