Stara Laznia (Old Baths) is located in Senatorska Street, which leads directly to the Vistula River. The street is known for its Celejowska House and a bakery selling traditional Kazimierz rooster-breads. The hotel itself stands near the riverside promenade, beside the Grodarz stream, and only 200 metres from the market square. There is a view over the summer restaurant and cafe terrace situated in-between the two wings; some rooms overlook the Vistula, castle hill, or local gardens.
The Old Baths was designed by Jan Koszczyc-Witkiewicz, and are a historical, two-storey, white building covered with red tiles, which opened in 1922. At the entrance, one can read the names of the carpenters and bricklayers who constructed it. There is a steep, covered staircase outside the building leading to all six rooms. All rooms have vestibules and attic windows, have been recently renovated, and have large beds, TV-sets, telephones, kettles and modern bathrooms with showers. In the suites and the single triple room there are additionally: free coffee, tea, drinking water and juices. Clocks and lamps made of stone and the sheepskins on the floor all add to the quality decor. Rooms can be arranged for special occasions like Valentine’s Day and anniversaries. Thanks to the thick walls, air-conditioning is not necessary. The restaurant offers Polish and international dishes, and there is a bar which doubles as a reception. Small banquet rooms and the Internet corner can serve as working rooms on request.
