Halit is located in Kiry, at the entrance to Koscieliska Valley on the northern side of the busy Zakopane-Chocholow road leading to Slovakia. Travel in both directions is facilitated by frequently running minibuses and larger buses. From Halit’s windows, you have a view on a stream, mountain greenery, as well as the road. There are always plenty of tourists in Kiry, including in the hotel’s folk restaurant.
The four-storey Halit belonged to the Wieliczka salt mines for decades, and a model of a mine in the lobby remains from that period. Nowadays privately owned and renovated in 2002, it consists of two interconnected buildings. Located closer to the road, the wooden part with highlander features dates back to 1937. The brick building, situated closer to the compact gravel car park, looks more like a villa with its decorative wallpapers and flower paintings. Floors and rooms differ: there are 1-4 person rooms and studios with new bathrooms with showers, radios, and TV with vast choice of channels. There are four rooms with mezzanine levels serving as bedrooms, and half of the rooms have balconies. The two terraces are welcoming on your arrival, while the dining room on the ground floor is decorated with wood and tiles. Your hosts are proud of the sauna with its Jacuzzi and terrace reaching out towards a stream. The sauna was constructed using Scandinavian spruce and exotic wood. You can use the two computers, billiards, foosball (table football), benches or the swing in the small garden, make bonfires, and enjoy free coffee and tea. Halit is an ideal base for people with a limited budget, who plan excursions to the valleys and villages in the area.
