Located in the quiet backwaters of Zakopane, the Sichlański Dworek makes a great retreat for anyone wanting to escape the city. With car access guests can easily reach the city centre in around 20 minutes and the Morskie Oko walking trail and swimming and thermal pools at Bukowina in around 15. Local minibuses run along the main road, stopping at popular tourist spots along their journey into the city centre, which takes around 20 minutes.
The owners of Sichlański Dworek have transformed their countryside villa into an attractive guest house offering modest rooms with a view. Sleeping spaces are on the bland side, decor wise and are fitted out with light brown wood furnishings, flat-screen TVs in some basic shower room. Around half the rooms have balconies and all have tranquil, meadow filled vistas. Below stairs there's a country cottage style restaurant opening up onto a patio for mum and dad and a garden with kids play area to keep the little ones entertained. Sichlański Dworek does make a good pick for young families wanting an escape from it all.
