The villa is situated in the centre, on busy Kosciuszko Street, between the aquapark and Rownia Krupowa, with Krupowki further on, and the railway and the bus and minibus stations only a 100 metres away. The city hall and a travel agency are also nearby. From the windows, there is a view over the hotel’s two-hectare garden with tennis courts and the Bystra stream, similar villas on the other side of the street as well as modest hotels nearby that were previously company-owned holiday centres.
Contrary to the most of the other villas in Zakopane, Marilor is a small palace in a large park, with an impressive driveway, well-developed spa, and an elegant restaurant. The internal decor is reminiscent of nineteen-century luxury Riviera hotels. This historical, eclectic palace originated in 1912 when it was built as a house for the Szczeniowski family and their guests, and then adapted to be a pension in 1918. The history of the villa and its owners, together with old pictures, are exhibited in the lobby. The hotel opened in 2001, and nowadays combines the atmosphere of a century ago combined with 21st century comfort. The villa actually consists of two buildings interconnected by a passage that leads through the spa. In relation to the palace’s size and character, its rooms with their antechambers, bathrooms and windows are large. Its furniture is stylish, and includes desks, chests of drawers, coffee tables, fold-out sofas and couches, all in gold, blue, violet, pink and crimson. Nothing is missing from these rooms, all of which look similar. Singles and doubles as well as suites are equipped with TV and radio, telephones, access to the Internet, free non-alcoholic mini-bars, safe-boxes, heated bathroom floors, and posh hotel service directories. Almost half of the rooms have balconies. Air-conditioning and LCD monitors are installed in the newer building and in the public areas. You will enjoy the indoor, well-lit “golden” tiled and mosaic swimming pool, sauna, solarium, salt cave, as well as the spa procedures and the restaurant’s European cuisine, terrace, cafe and bar.
