Villa Taterka is located on a quiet side road, just off the main road that leads to Zakopane city centre in one direction and the Slovak border in the other. It will take around 10 minutes to reach Zakopane's main high street by car or 15 minutes by a local bus. Heading towards Slovakia is Dolina Koscieliska and Chocholowska, both popular and undemanding walking trails. Also within easy reach are the Szymoszkowa open-air pool and ski lifts.
Attractive, spacious apartments and Tatra Mountain views are on offer at the Taterka, run by a husband and wife team. The villa is reminiscent of a Hispanic hacienda, with its white walls cool tiled floors and wrought iron bannisters. Sleeping spaces have laminated floors, a neutral colour scheme livened up by cheery flower prints and a kitchen corner with fridge, kettle and sink. Spotless bathrooms in a grey and white design come with a shower cubicle. Suites sleep up to four and all of these come with a balcony facing Giewont Mountain. Three rooms on the top floor share a communal kitchen, however it will probably remain immaculately gleaming as the small restaurant lays on traditional Polish suppers. A large flexible space on the ground floor will open in 2010 as a conference and games room. For a full on Zakopane Zapraszamy (welcome) Willa Taterka could be the place to head to.
