HOTEL LOCATION & DESCRIPTION
Dwor Oliwski is situated on the edge of the Tri-city Landscape Beauty Park and the Oliwa district, in the Valley of Joy. There is a narrow avenue lined with trees, which will lead you to Oliwa Cathedral and a zoo. There are ponds, streams, small gardens, and an old smithy nearby.
Designed by the owner, who also happens to be an architect, this hotel was opened in 1997 with an architectural theme relating to the tradition of Gdansk suburban residences. The hotel consists of a reconstructed manor house dating back to 1611, with hand-painted wooden panels, and three new buildings with thatched roofs and some half-timbered walls: the Stable, the Barn and the Carriage Shed. They form a horseshoe with a cobbled yard and an ultramodern fountain in the middle. Most of the furniture was made in Tuscany, while the paintings were created on location. The hotel offers single and double rooms, as well as studios and suites, with Cyfra+ satellite TV, channels for adults, LCD screens, individually controlled air-con, minibars, safe-boxes, and wireless Internet. Inside the rooms you can find blacksmith-hammered bed backrests, mattresses made of coconut fibres, several round beds, and wooden floors that are worthy of attention. There are breakfast rooms with terraces, a tearoom with bar, and a French restaurant in the manor house. The restaurant even keeps silver cutlery for special occasions. There is a wine cellar in the 17-century chamber, a boutique, conference rooms, a lounge with a kitchen, and sanarium with an artificial meadow, indoor swimming pool with an artificial beach, cardio-gym and bicycles are available. The staff organises Nordic walking, golf stays, and yoga.
