The Franz Josef is located midway along a busy main road that links the city centre to the A4 Highway, for fast connections to Krakow and further south. It takes around 10 minutes to reach the main train and bus terminals on foot and about 15 minutes to reach the city centre's bustling shopping, entertainment and business districts.
Named after the Austrian Emperor, there's a rich Hapsburg theme running through this petite guesthouse. Guests can expect to be greeted by staff in smart red and black piped livery and ushered up a stairway hung with portraits of Emperors and Empresses from bygone centuries. Sleeping spaces are simply laid out. All have dark hard wood floors and furnishings, flat screen TVs and an en-suite shower cubicle bathroom. A first floor conference room can be transformed into a elegant space for entertaining. Downstairs, guests can linger in the restaurant over a tantalising sounding selection of Austrian, Moravian, Galilean and Hungarian dishes.
