You’ll be hard pushed to miss Andels as it takes up a wedge of the square bang opposite the city’s beautifully restored 19th main train station and mega modern shopping mall with more than 200 outlets. The historic city centre, with all its medieval sights and attractions, is an easy five to ten minute stroll.

Arguably the most contemporary boutique hotel in a city that has seen dozens of new spots open since 2006, Andels is a cut above most. It has a bright, light and lofty reception decked out with funky red leather chairs with rooms on four floors. The fifth is marked out as an executive floor containing mostly suites, some with terraces. ‘Standard’ rooms are fitted out to a superior style, with mood lighting from the bathroom casting a sexy ambiance over the bedroom. There’s everything you’d expect in a room of this class plus extras including DVD and safe deposit with a crafty laptop battery charger. Many of the granite styled bathrooms come with separate bath and roomy shower unit – big enough for two. Andels also has dedicated first-class conference and event facilities, an oriental inspired gym and sauna and a cocktail bar and restaurant boasting a seasonal gourmet menu. What’s not to like?

    A hot and cold buffet breakfast, including typically American and British fare, is served between 6.30 to 11am and from 7am on Sundays and public holidays. Special diets and breakfasts outside these hours can be catered for with advance notice. A children's menu is also available.

    Children up to 6 years of age, sleeping with parents or in their own bed, stay for free. Children between 7 and 12 are charged 25 EURO for an extra bed. A maximum two children in a room with parents. Babysitting service is available on request. All children receive a free, fun welcome pack on arrival. High chairs, baby cots and baths available free. The restaurant has a kids menu.

    Rooms on the second floor are designated for guests who smoke. Guests can also smoke by the lift on all floors.
