Eden sits along a cobble stoned side street in the historic Jewish quarter of Kazimierz. It's one of the few establishments in the locality to pay more than just lip service to Kazimierz's significance for Jews. Every summer it hosts workshops as part of the Jewish Festival, and is a popular hangout for many of the event's performers. It takes about 15 minutes on foot to reach the city centre from Eden and 10 minutes to the main train terminal by cab.
Eden offers cosy, unpretentious accommodation in three restored 17th century townhouses that have been knocked into one. The rooms are simple and clean, if a little plain. Blond wood standard furnishings predominate and en suite bathrooms are ship shape. Sleeping quarters can vary a little in size and on the top floor are built into the attic. More atmospheric is the Gothic cellar with its salt grotto - an antidote for respiratory aliments. A spa should also help keep guests revitalised. A beer garden pulls in the punters in the summer months, keen to savour Eden's homely hospitality.
