The Janexim Guest Rooms are in a handy spot in the city centre along a busy road that's a few minutes walk from the main medieval market square. In the same street is Theatre Bagatela, a top arts venue and there are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants close by. The main bus and train terminals are about a five minute cab ride away. Be aware there's some noise from the trams in the rooms at the front.
The guest rooms are on the second floor of an old tenement building. There's no lift so it's up the stairs to the quirky reception, hung with artwork of local Cracovian artists. There are six rooms on the second and third floors which are simply styled with old-fashioned furniture. There're all huge spaces with high ceilings, parquet floorboards and wooden window frames. So think scruffy chic. Each room has its own no-frills bathroom - although some are in the corridor. Two rooms on each floor get their own balcony. There's one more basic room in a separate building on the other side of the road. Janexim rooms would be just the place for small groups of friends, backpackers looking for a notch-up from a hostel, or anyone after a simple, off-beat place to hang their hat.
