Paszkowka Palace is an hour's drive from Krakow and about 20 minutes by taxi from the city's airport. It's set in parkland with its own lake and is the perfect escape from the city. The hotel makes an excellent base for anyone wanting to discover the Małopolskie region as guests can easily reach Auschwitz and Wadowice, both a 20 minute drive away. A bus service to Skawina and a sporadic one to Krakow stops outside the hotel.
With its flag waving turrets and Hungarian hounds dozing at the entrance, a stay at Paszkowka Palace is a bit like entering a time warp. Inside stone columns, wood panelling and candles flickering in brick alcoves create an atmospheric ambiance. Chintzy decorated chambers offer either queen-sized beds or doubles. All are decked out with crafty cabinets concealing TVs and mini-bars and some have a free standing bath in the main room. An annexe building near to the lake, faces the main hotel and offers more down-to-earth accommodation. Its basement houses a games room with a sauna, mini-gym and pool. With top-notch dining facilities, a summer garden, conference and banquet halls, Paszkowka Palace should suit anyone with a hankering for an old-fashioned regal retreat.
