HOTEL LOCATION & DESCRIPTION
The Polski Pod Białym Orłem occupies a top spot in the historic city centre right opposite the last surviving part of Krakow’s medieval city walls and the Barbican, the city’s ancient fortress. Close by are plenty of souvenir shops selling traditional amber jewellery and crafts and the medieval market square's just a couple of minutes amble down the road. The main train and bus stations are only a five minute taxi cab ride away.
Think high society Krakow – think Polski Pod Bialym Orlem, a hotel since 1815. This place has style and class in buckets, apparent as you enter the spacious reception in the 15th century building with colonnades, chandeliers and traditional brick arched ceilings. You could almost imagine a cast from an Agatha Christie novel to emerge from the snug little bar round the corner. The hotel's rooms are spread over three floors – some on the top floor have sloping ceilings and have been modernized with snazzy decor – while the rest are more old fashioned with wooden carved headboards, flowery drapes and decor and parquet floorboards. On the ground floor you'll also find a beauty parlour and saloon tucked away - so a perfect place to spend a weekend being pampered.
