HOTEL LOCATION & DESCRIPTION
Rubens is in a side street in Podgorze, just across the Wisla River from Krakow’s historic city centre. There are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants close by in this up and coming quarter. It takes about 10 minutes to reach Kazimierz by foot or 20 to the main medieval market square. It’s also a five minutes trot to the river walkway which winds its way to Wawel Castle.
On offer at Rubens are clean and pleasant sleeping spaces arranged over three floors of a classic Cracovian townhouse. Large windows, high ceilings and a butter yellow colour palette makes the rooms feel light, bright and airy. Laminated floors, blond wood furnishings, free Wi-Fi and basic, clean shower room should please down-to-earth punters. Three rooms on the top floor share bathroom facilities and so get 25 percent lobbed off the price. A ground floor restaurant knocks out Polish fare until late in the evening. Note: there is no lift access in the building.
