HOTEL LOCATION & DESCRIPTION
Hotel Tyniecki takes its name from the nearby Tyniec Monastery. Tyniec is a medieval hilltop complex overlooking the Wisla, with several churches and a shop and restaurant. At a nearby outlet, guests can hire canoes or navigate the bank side on bike. It's straightforward to reach the city centre by following the Tyniecki highway into town which will take around 15 minutes. Bus 112 from stop 'Podgorki' does the job in about 25 minutes.
Tyniecki is a modern built hotel with a rustic sandstone and terracotta colour scheme. Interiors are cool and tranquil with tiled floors and rooms are spread over two levels. Those on the top floor are built into the attic and have slightly sloping ceilings. All are simply furnished and have the requisite accessories, such as free Wi-Fi, needed for a short-haul stay. A couple of rooms have balconies with views of the Church of Kamedulois. A good sized restaurant and bar take up most of the ground floor along with a conference quarter that doubles as a billiard room.
This hotel has been visited by our reviewer in April 2010.
