HOTEL LOCATION & DESCRIPTION
Situated on the south-side of Sopot, in the borders zone of Gdansk, Lalala Art Hotel is a 5 minute walk from Sopot Wyscigi stop along the Tri-city rapid-transit train (SKM) route. A few geometric shapes and splashes of colour on the facade hint at the explosion of creativity that awaits inside this three-storey boutique property. It might be hard to leave all the fun, but there are buses going to either downtown Sopot or Gdansk Oliwa and the sandy beaches are a brisk 20 minute walk away.
Boosting Sopot's cool factor up a few notches, this eclectic and supremely artistic hotel is a complete one-off. The feel is more contemporary design gallery than hotel, as each room bears the handiwork of a different Polish artists and designer. Some feature an inventive twist on traditional folk motifs, others space-age minimalism. And then there's a Gothic-style space with furry black walls, red deer antlers, black crows and a large squishy ladybug on the floor. Beside embodying an avant-garde spirit, each unit comes equipped with comfortable beds, radio, shower or tub-filled bathrooms and Wi-fi Internet access. On the ground floor, the informal lobby-cum-restaurant-cum-wine bar is a great place for like-minded hipsters to slosh and nosh, and on request, host business events for up to 25 people.
