The Filmar Hotel is situated in the city centre, close to the Old Town of Torun, and it will take around 15 minutes to get to the Old Market Square, while nearby there is a multiplex cinema. There is a major crossroads where four important streets merge just 200m away: Szosa Chelminska, Aleja Solidarnosci, Czerwona Droga and Odrodzenia. However, Grudziadzka Street, where the hotel is located, is a side street, so you can expect a tranquil stay at the Filmar.
The largest hotel in Torun so far, it is a result of the reconstruction of a former shopping centre. Of the 150 rooms or so in the hotel, you have a choice of single, double, twin, triple, studios and suites, all painted in bright colours and equipped with modern, comfortable furniture. The hotel pays more attention to comfort and relaxation than to the particular style of the rooms. All of the rooms have free cable Internet access. The hotel mainly attracts businesspeople, and offers a large recreational area consisting of an up-to-date lobby bar, billiards table, fitness room and a beauty zone. For your convenience, there is also a florist’s, newsagent and a small gallery of jewellery and art on the ground floor. The hotel has two restaurants – Piernikowa on the ground floor and Blekitna on the second floor. The latter serves breakfast, while the former is adjoined with the conference centre and used predominantly for coffee breaks and banquets. The hotel opened in 2004, and since then has offered a great standard of services.
