HOTEL LOCATION & DESCRIPTION
With a character-steep colourful facade topped by a glass dome, Radisson Blu Sobieski Hotel has wowed onlookers since it opened its doors in 1991. This easily-recognizable Warsaw landmark is located at the crossing of main avenues, Grojecka and Jerozolimskie Streets. The central railway station, Palace of Culture and Science, Warsaw Uprising Museum and the trendy Zlote Tarasy shopping arcade are all just a 10-15 minute tram jaunt away, while buses to airport stop right in front of the hotel.
Housed in one of the city's most easily-recognizable constructions, a vibrant facade created by painter Hans Piccottini, Radisson Blu Sobieski Hotel has played host to a gamut of corporate moguls, political leaders and affluent globetrotters over its 20-year history. The lobby and surrounding dining outlets - including the Marysienka Restaurant and Trylogia restaurant-cum-drink bar -, are effortlessly stylish and spacious, with plenty of natural light streaming through the rooftop windows. Rooms, spread out over seven floors, have seen better days, but they are fitted with tasteful furnishings and gradually being renovated. Execs on the go will make use of the underground fitness club, business centre, Wi-Fi Internet access and the 7 air-conditioned conference rooms and 5 function facilities.
This hotel has been visited by our reviewer in January 2010.
