Situated on the Pilsudskiego Street, a traffic-heavy artery, Polonia Hotel is less than 300 metres from the central railway station. This is one of the oldest continuously operating accommodations in Wroclaw and while the five-storey structure shows some serious wear and tear, its central location has been a big factor in luring care-free travellers. Within a 15 minute walking radius there is the Old Town, Ostrow Tumski, the Raclawice Panorama, as well as the shopping centres.
Staying at this long-standing landmark is real hit-and-miss experience. Renovations in 2010 have added a new sheen on a handful of rooms, including new carpets, coat of paint and waist-high beds, which makes them quite pleasant. All other rooms are boxy, stuffy and in serious need of refreshing. Basic furnishings include low-slung beds, wooden tables, wardrobes, TV and shower-only bathrooms. The Galicja Restaurant is open from 12:00 till 21:00 (Monday - Saturday) and 12:00 - 19:00 (Sundays).
