Cross a bridge to the tiny island of Wyspa Mlynska to find the four-storey structure of Hotel Tumski. Named after a neighbouring island that boasts the towering Cathedral, or Archdiocese Basilica of St. Peter and Paul, this quaint riverside property is an ideal base for sightseeing: calm and civilised yet within 10 minutes walk of the picture-perfect Market Square. There is also the Raclawice Panorama, the University of Wroclaw and a shopping centre to visit nearby, and the tram station in front of the hotel puts you in easy reach of the main railway station.
The historic tenement house has seen several incarnations before assuming its final form as Hotel Tumski in 2000. First it was a banquet room with a brewery, then the Millers’ School (Szkola Mlynarska) which was followed by a secondary school for pupils wanting to enter the food industry. The building now features handsomely appointed living quarters, the rustic Karczma Mlynska restaurant and two conference rooms. Rooms come equipped with mini-bars, satellite TV, fans and wireless Internet connection, while some even have coffee and tea making facilities and river views. The interiors are elegant with lots of wood and furnishings in red and green tones that create a warm ambiance. Moreover, the outdoor garden and newly constructed boat restaurant are pleasant places to while away a summer afternoon.
