The Helios is situated on the northern edge of Rownia Krupowa Park, close to the Nowotarska Street that most visitors use to enter Zakopane from the Krakow side, a few minutes’ walk from Krupowki, the railway and bus station, the Gubalowka funicular railway, as well as local minibus stops. From almost all rooms, there is a great view on the Tatra Mountains, the Rownia Park, or a neighbouring school.
In the past the four-storey Helios was the flagship hotel in Zakopane, attracting groups from Yugoslavia. In year 1994 hotel undergone general modernisation. It offers accommodation in single and double rooms that when used together as studios give the impression of living in a mirror. The rooms are equipped with bathrooms with showers, TVs, radios with alarm clocks, and telephones. At the end of corridors, there are suites with vestibules, spacious bathrooms, fridges, kettles and balconies. Unfortunately there is no elevator in the hotel. There are characteristic bedcovers and armchairs in a puce colour. There is wireless Internet accessible on the lowest floors, and a travel agency on the ground floor. You can park your car at the hotel, which is in the city centre. The La Strada restaurant creates Italian dishes and plays Italian songs. It is nice to take breakfast on the terrace.
