Redyk is situated over 1000 m above sea level, close to the village of Zab sitting on Gubalowka ridge. The most convenient road to the hotel is from Poronin, 7 km away. Although Zakopane is visible from the foot of the hotel, you need to drive over a dozen kilometres to reach its centre, or take one of minibuses, running every quarter of an hour. There are walking and cycling routes nearby. You can walk to the upper station of the Gubalowka funicular railway in 40 minutes. The nearest ski lift is 50 metres away. The hotel stands next to the village, among meadows with grazing cows. From almost all windows, a beautiful view extends over the whole range of the Tatra Mountains, even when looking out over the terrace.
Opened in 2004, the four-storey Redyk has an unusual location. From the sky, it looks like it is squatting under the ridge, not afraid of wind or the snow that actually lies there for six months. Literally, and as a metaphor, it intends to stay above Krupowki Street and the traffic jams of the ‘zakopianka’ highway. In opposition to Zakopane or Koscielisko, staying in Redyk means enjoying a real village, with the possibility of getting back to civilisation at any time. Spacious rooms in honey and blue keys, accommodating one to three people, and a suite, are available in a wooden, yellow building covered with modern kind of shingle. The rooms are equipped with dark ash furniture, beds with mattresses of coconut fibres, bathrooms with shower cabins, Internet, and satellite TV. Almost all rooms have balconies, and there is a mini-Jacuzzi on the sunbathing terrace. At your disposal are massaging armchairs, the bio-revitalisation parlour, and deckchairs. You are invited to take your time in the air-conditioned restaurant with its fountain. Most visitors are either holiday-makers looking for countryside calm, conference participants, or skiers in winter.
