Aspen Colorado is in a hide-away spot at the top of the Gubałówka Mountain. The easiest way to reach is via the Gubałówka funicular train and then to turn left at the exit. The hotel is 900 metres along the main path and a sign directs guests down a steep two-track slope. At the base is a clearing of houses and the Aspen is the second on the left. Note it has no sign outside and isn't obviously a guest house. The reception desk is the door on the right. Alternativetly, local buses stop on the road at the top taking around 20 minutes to the city centre.
The mountain top Aspen Colorado is a family-run guest house offering simply furnished rooms with the added bonus of breathtaking views. Good-sized sleeping spaces come with all the prequiste features including free Internet connection, stripped pine furniture, fridges and modern tiled bathrooms. The massage showers in every bathroom will be bliss for tired trekkers. For a small extra fee guests can go the whole way and slumber in the jacuzzi and sauna. Up top family rooms come with pull-down ladders for attic sleeping spaces, great for kids. And everyone can unwind on the patio and drink in the mountain air and stunning Tatra views. Aspen makes a good choice for families with the many attractions and sporting activities dotted along the Gubałówka Mountain top.
