The hotel is situated by the sea, separated only by the hotel garden with its deck chairs. It is located next to the pier and the emerging multifunctional Haffner Centre, close to the promenade, and a kilometre from the railway station. Half of the rooms have windows overlooking the sea, while the remaining have a view on the impressive driveway, car park, Northern Park and the neighbouring hotel. Due to the abundance of clubs and discotheques in the neighbourhood, as well as its central location, the Grand, and especially its extreme northern and southern rooms, can hardly be pronounced as calm.
Opened in 1927, the Grand is synonymous with hospitality and tradition, known for the visits by famous guests, including General de Gaulle. The hotel distinguishes itself with the MyBed system assuring comfortable sleep, individually controlled speakers in all bathrooms, the only gym with the latest generation of Kinesis equipment and a sea view. There is also the Cigar Room, a stylish library with chess and tic-tac-toe game sets, the ballroom and a monumental foyer. The restaurant has a view on the pier, and maintains a tradition of French cuisine with lobster at the top of the menu. Near the indoor swimming pool is an ice pool. The hotel offers three classes of single and double rooms: superior, deluxe and executive, as well as suites. During the renovation in 2006, the furniture was changed for modern styles. Angular lamps, wide bed backrests and “altars” with large LCD monitors and mini-bars in the middle of rooms are a surprising room design feature. The rooms have chip card locks, air-conditioning, safe-boxes, satellite and pay TV, Internet access. They are equipped with good-brand cosmetics and anti-allergenic cushions. One third of the rooms have balconies. The most popular are the rooms under the cupola, and with their sea view terraces.
