A short drive from Zabrze's main centre is the Diament housed in a stark, utilitarian sky blue block, down a quiet side street. A few minutes walk away is the Guido coal shaft, once a working coalmine, and now open for underground visits and a cultural centre and city museum. It takes around half an hour by car to Katowice, 20 minutes by car to Gliwice and 40 minutes by car to Pyrzowice Airport from the hotel.
The Diament offers unpretentious, if personality free, sleeping quarters with the added bonus of a complimentary sauna and a good mid-range restaurant. Standard rooms are equipped with practicality in mind - fitted blond wood furnishings, desk, free Wi-Fi and mini en-suite shower room. Upgrade to one of the four studios decked out in the same blandish style, to enjoy a lounge, flat-screen TV, Hi-Fi and tea and coffee-making facilities. Guests can chill out in the restaurant, livened up with orange splash screens, or on the terrace and tuck into Silesian specialities including Beef Roulade.
