The Kasprowy is easily visible from any direction, built on a slope of the Gubalowka Hill, neighbouring the ski lifts, the Gubalowka funicular railway and the Szymaszkowa outdoor swimming pools complex. It is connected with the centre of Zakopane and Koscielisko by four-lane Powstancow Slaskich Street. Shuttle buses provide fast transport to the city, for a fee, while a walk there takes up to about half an hour. From the windows you can see the Tatra Mountains, Gubalowka, ski lifts, swimming pools and the driveway.
Opened in 1974, with ten levels, this chain hotel is the biggest in Zakopane. The Kasprowy was designed in the full swing of and in accordance to ski resorts architectural patterns: it has broken lines, a cherry coloured and steep roof, long balconies, and large panoramic terraces. Old photographs with descriptions are exhibited inside in order to keep alive Alpine and skiing traditions. You can choose between single and double rooms, in standard and superior levels equipped with magnetic locks, bathrooms, and desks combined with mini-bars. There are also large wardrobes, flowered bedding, telephones, radios, satellite and pay TV, as well as free high-speed Internet and safe-boxes. LCD monitors, tea and coffee making facilities, and balconies are available in some rooms. Suites have illuminated wardrobes, sliding doors between rooms, working desks, fridges, a Jacuzzi and are decorated with paintings on glass. The rooms with a Tatra view are more expensive. The Kasprowy has long been known for its well-developed recreational and conference facilities. If you are hungry and tired, you are invited to the Alpine Restaurant, the Kasprowy Przycup folk inn, the Grota nightclub, a mini shopping mall, free indoor swimming pool, sauna, small fitness room and solarium. Unlike other Zakopane hotels, participants of conferences dominate the Kasprowy. In winter, however, it is home to skiers.
