Sichlanski Dworek is located at the northern end of the village of Murzasichle, next to the forest, and closer to Stasikowka and Poronin than Zakopane, which is more than 10 km distant. Getting to Zakopane is straightforward as there are minibuses that stop only 50 m from Sichlanski Dworek. It stands a little aside from a less frequented, asphalted road, and so retains an air of calm. Along the main street of the village and in the neighbourhood there are numerous older and newer houses with rooms for renting, surrounded by gardens and with meadows behind them. They are visible from Sichlanski Dworek, and its windows look out on a grassy garden with a small beer terrace, children’s playground, and the gravel driveway with an unguarded but free car park that is locked at night. You can book rooms with a mountain view. Sichlanski Dworek constitutes a good base for excursions to the High Tatra Mountains and Slovakia, 7 km distant. There are six ski lifts nearby.
The hotel was opened in 2006. Its exterior and the restaurant have a highlander character, but the rooms are modern, and the corridors are decorated with lighted copies of Polish paintings. There are comfortable rooms available for one to four persons, differing in colour, and are equipped with cosy furniture made of solid wood, bathrooms with showers, small TVs (either traditional or LCD), and free access to wireless Internet. The majority of them have balconies and DVD players. The woman owner sews the curtains and pillowcases herself, and has selected the bed covers personally. In the stylish restaurant, which remains open until 21.00, homemade regional dishes are served, and half or full board can be ordered for your entire stay there. Reception will gladly organise what is known as “faszing”, horse-driven carriage or sleigh rides, bonfires, grill parties, mutton roasting, and painting on glass. The hotel’s slogan is “Here you can feel how life tastes”, which has some truth as many guests return to this quite different world of a Podhale village.
