Hotel Bartan is a modern free-standing structure situated on the Island of Sobieszewo, a residential neighbourhood on the outskirts of Gdansk. The location - 800 metres from the sandy Baltic beach and much less to the Vistula River delta - allows easy access to the nearby Bird Paradise nature reserve, plus the batch of small shops and fish restaurants in the area. Driving to downtown Gdansk takes 15 minutes, while taking a public bus takes some 30 minutes.
This pleasant three-level property, surrounded by an ornamental fence, car park and garden with summer-fun amenities, is equally suited for travellers interested in an active break or more relaxing city visit away from the downtown ruckus. Rooms renovated in year 2010, are well proportioned and practically furnished with light wood desks, wardrobes and patterned bedspreads. All have satellite TV, shower-only bathrooms and Wi-Fi Internet access, but higher-category units also boast pullout beds, mini-bars and terraces. The ground-floor Amber Restaurant has an orangery and a selection of tasty Polish and European dishes.
