Across the road from the sandy Baltic sea, in the Jelitkowo district of Gdansk bordering Sopot, Orbis Posejdon is one part leisure and two parts business hotel. The layered rock facade of this two-storey building is fronted by elegantly manicured gardens and a spacious car park. It's situated 2 kilometres form the Oliwa railway station (best reached by bus that stops some 200 metres from the property) and approximately 8 kilometres from the historic core of the city.
An anchor on the driveway lawn, the fish-filled pool in the lobby, the pervasive blue accents and the name itself relate to the seaside character of the hotel. The beautiful garden is frequently used as the background for wedding pictures, and “just married” photographs can be seen in the lobby. The garden is also the scene for many corporate events, for which purpose a special canopy can be erected, and also serves as a children’s playground. With floor-to-ceiling windows facing either the courtyard or the neighbouring greenery, rooms are flooded with light and furnished in colourful tones and functional equipment. Satellite and pay-per-view TV, telephone, Wi-Fi Internet access and compact bathrooms are standard, while rooms on the top floor also have balconies. For a calming experience guests can relieve stress in the ground-floor recreation area, which includes a swimming pool, saunas and gym; as well as enjoy massages and body treatments at the Beauty Derm Institute. There's a drink bar, spacious restaurant serving traditional Polish dishes, and five fully equipped conference rooms.
