Ten minutes up the road on foot from the Oliwa train station in Gdansk's northern residential district, Willa Albatros on the corner of Piastowska and Pomorska Streets, both leading to the beach of Jelitkowo. The neighbourhood is freckled by detached homes with gardens and peaceful streets, plus the Oliwski Stream, pond, sport fields, Academy of Physical Education, and private cosmetic surgeries are all close by. Several bus lines stop within 100 metres of the property, but it's also possible to take a tram from Albatros to the Tri-city rapid-transit train station, Oliwa Cathedral or to the beach.
A family-run property consisting of two neighbouring buildings that share a manicured garden, this is a pleasant retreat for families or peace-seeking business travellers. Although its rooms vary in decor and size, all come equipped with cable TV, DVD player, Wi-Fi Internet and compact but super-clean bathrooms. Some have hydro-massage Jacuzzi tubs and fluffy bathrobes while others balconies and garden views. Breakfast or daytime dining in the basement-level restaurant is a must for the warm hospitality and delicious, frequently changing regional dishes. The friendly staff also lend a helping hand with laundry, room service, car hires, tour organizations or businesses services. There's also a DVD film library, anti-allergic bedding, fresh cookies and a complimentary coffee and tea stand and a garden with a grill for the use of guests.
