Sophisticated and decidedly dreamy, Merridian Hotel is a small-is-beautiful hideaway in the quieter reaches of inner-city Poznan. Enveloped by the lush greenery of Solacki park, facing a tranquil lake, the building has functioned as a respected restaurant on and off since the 1920s, while the addition of a handful of stylish rooms in 1992 turned the place into a stunning urban sanctuary. Major tourist points of interest, including the Old Town and International Trade Fair grounds, can be reached by direct bus and tram connections in 15-20 minutes.
A charming little lake-side hotel where helpful staff often outnumber guests, Merridian Hotel offers a calming refuge from the city's rush. All ten air-conditioned rooms are on the first floor, via stair only access, have eye-catching interiors with dark wood furnishings, sumptuous beds and wafting fabrics.
