The Carlton is situated half way along one of the main streets of Zakopane, while Grunwaldzka and the Krupowki promenade is a few minute walk away. You can reach the Pod Reglami path and other tourist trails leading up the mountains with a quarter of an hour’s walk. From the windows, you can see the fenced in grassy gardens, the street, and neighbouring villas and guesthouses with their gardens.
Renovated in 2007, the Carlton’s guest rooms are contained in a villa dating back to 1927, and was previously one of the most elegant pensions in the town. The house, and particularly its superb bright lounge in a vast loggia, with high windows, stylish furniture and lamps, cupids and the fireplace, preserves the pre-war air, and serves well its purpose as a place to socialise, read, play games and watch TV. There is a grand piano, large LCD monitor with satellite TV, and a revolving disco ball hanging from the ceiling. In the dining room, you can still taste the equality of the past, as there are still uniform menus, simple chairs, and tables covered with white tablecloths. The great advantage of the Carlton is in the home cooking, and in the coffee, tea, juice as well as having a fridge at your disposal. The aging wooden stairs with balustrades lead upstairs to the high 1-4 person rooms and studios, with white bathrooms, TVs, radios, telephones, and wireless Internet reachable on the lower floors. The garden with its mown grass but no benches looks rarely visited, most people choosing to sunbathe on deckchairs on the common terrace. You pets stay for free.
