The Litwor is one of the most centrally located hotels in Zakopane, as it's set back from Krupowki, the city's busy throughfare. Right outside is a marketplace of open-air eateries, where traditional grilled Polish fare can be feasted on while perched along tressle tables. It takes about ten minutes to walk to the main bus and train stations.
Liveried doormen welcome guests into the Litwor, one of Zakopane's few five-star hotels. Inside the dark wood lobby and bar, oak beamed ceilings and bottle blue tiled chimney place conjure up a timeless highlander atmosphere. On offer are standard rooms and apartments, all of which come with balconies, dark mahogany furniture, radios, TVs, mini-bars and safes. With their thick carpets, patterned wallpapers and heavy curtains, the overall feel of the rooms is all a little twee. Children's playroom are charged extra. Thankfully though, internet via Wi-Fi, the leisure centre with its pool, jacuzzi, sauna and mini-gym are all bundled up in the room rate. And after a dip in the pool, guests can relax at the bar or in the conservatory restaurant which overlooks the hotel's gardens.
