Opened in late 2009, this smart and good-value bed and breakfast occupies a beautifully renovated building in a reasonably good location in the inner city. There are several different trams going from Plac Strzelecki, situated only 50 metres away, to downtown tourist destinations and beyond. On foot it will take 20-25 minutes to reach the Market Square.
A pleasant alternative to noisy, dorm-like youth hostels, Akira B&B is a calm and cool place with a personable staff. Facilities in single, double or triple rooms are basic, but include flat-screen TVs, shower-only bathrooms and wireless Internet access. Its friendliest features are the reception/dining room with funky wall art and a backyard patio to hang out in. There's also a laundry room, computer and five parking spaces for the use of guests.
