Opposite the Wroclaw's Opera House, about 500 metres from the animated Market Square, Monopol Hotel is a cosmopolitan oasis of urban glamour. It's housed in a late 19th century neo-baroque style building, a famed accommodation that hosted many a passing artist and dignitary and served as a backdrop for many Polish movies in its former life. Expanded and elegantly restored in 2008 by its current owners, the enterprising Likus brothers, this is now the in-the-know address for visiting VIPs.
