Adria is located opposite a professional hotel school in a busy Grunwaldzka Street dominated by guesthouses and connecting the centre with the mountain valleys. Since the side of the guesthouse faces the street, from Adria’s windows you can look out over a park with children’s playgrounds and tennis courts, as well as neighbouring houses with gardens. Krupowki is an easy five minutes on foot. Adria is popular among backpackers, including many from Britain, as a quiet base for mountaineering.
The steep, beetroot coloured roof of corrugated iron sheets, and the use of triangle forms are characteristic for holiday centres of the 1970s, although it has been modernised since then. Adria is also typical of the era with its dining room and white tablecloths, the training or TV room with a cafe, together confirming Adria’s heritage as a youth activist centre. With the use of marble, its staircases, corridors, lobby and reception / cocktail bar, the image you get is that it is rather cool but solid looking. The rooms, however, being modern and cosy, will surprise you nicely. Adria offers bright 1-4 person rooms, including studios, with parquet floors, new mattresses, high wardrobes with mirrors, wooden chests of drawers and art nouveau style lamps. There are small bathrooms with showers, satellite TV on traditional or LCD screens, high-speed internet, coffee and tea making sets, and mini-fridges in the larger rooms. One third of the rooms have balconies. You have the choice of going pre-paid full or half board, and you can enjoy the Finnish sauna or play billiards with tokens. Adria was built on a narrow lot, and is surrounded by its gardens. There is also a car park.
