Willa Orla is a short 15 minute walk to Zakopane city centre and the funicular train which goes to the top of Gubalowki Mountain with its many attractions. Opposite the hotel is the Museum of Zakopane Style and Inspiration which showcases traditional highlander interiors. Heading away from the city centre, guests can reach the Szymaszkowa open-air swimming pool and ski lift in about 10 minutes by car.
This traditionally built villa dates from the 19th century and today, as Hotel Orla, offers rustictly themed guest rooms. The lobby and corridors are furnished with antiques and photographs, old and new, of local scenes and gatherings. Sleeping spaces are simply decked out in a country cottage style with wood panelled walls, single beds, TV, fridge, free Wi-Fi and a kettle in some. Most rooms are a decent size and all come with a basic, standard shower. Spaces on the first floor vary in shape and some are quite narrow with top to toe bed arrangements. The hotel's lounge resembles a mini-museum with its original weaving loom and local craftsfolk occassionally hold demonstrations of their trades here. Willa Orla should appeal to anyone after a sedate stay in a hotel with history.
