Mikołaj is in a top spot, located in a quiet side street just a minute's walk from the medieval market square with its many attractions. It takes a few minutes to reach the main bus and train terminals by cab. Kazimierz, the historic Jewish area, is about a 20 minute stroll away by foot.
The Mikołaj is part of a row of Cracovian medieval townhouses, now converted into boutique style hotels. No two spaces are the same here as each has been decked out in inviting colour schemes and furnishings based on the different national costumes of Poland's regions. Upholstered armchairs, window drapes and prints depicting the room's particular region feature in each. The Gothic cellar restaurant is open in high season, while a snug ground floor cafe serves up some classic Polish dishes with a twist at budget prices.
