Sited on the side of the busy 11 motorway in the small town of Oborniki, some 24 kilometres north of Poznan, Hotel Delicja has been serving travelling businessmen who need a pleasant place to snooze since 1981. The best way to reach this small-scale retreat is by car, but the inter-city bus station is 200 metres away and it will take about 40 minutes to get to downtown Poznan.
An airy, light-filled lobby replete with chocolate-wood cabinets, plush armchairs and an antique standing clock greet visitors to this cozy two-storey structure. Air-conditioned rooms, reachable by stairs only, are spacious and bright, though the sober furnishings say "business hotel" rather than "boutique bolt hole". Each has a mini-bar, satellite TV, compact shower-only bathroom and broadband Wi-Fi Internet access. The fitness room and Finnish sauna are a nice touch, too.
