The Goralski Dwor is located up a peaceful lane near the corner of a road that links Zakopane with the Slovak border. It takes about 15 minutes to reach the town centre by car or a tad longer via one of the mini-buses that stop nearby. The Gubałowka Mountain top with its many attractions, incuding ski lifts, is about a ten minute drive away. Heading towards Slovakia are the Kościeliska and Chochołowska Valley walking trails.
Guests may be forgiven for thinking they've stumbled into a film set for 'Lord of the Rings' at the Goralski Dwor. Its restaurant is mysterious and rustic, with spinning wheels suspened from the ceiling, earthen fireplaces, decorative beams and mishapen wood carved tables and chairs. The food is satisfylingly straight forward, filling and delicious too. Up above rooms are a little more down-to-earth. All are a good size with orange and bright blue upholstered furnishings, wood tables and wardrobes and cosy perch- under-window seating areas in some. Free Wi-Fi is in all, and many come with flip-down sofas. In the cosy attic rooms some beds are squeezed under the beams. Goralski Dwor is a gem of a place to bed down and one hotel where it's really worth dining out in.
