Aureus is located in the north-eastern part of the old centre, near the monument to the defenders of the Polish Post Office, Motlawa and the Radunia Channel, close to the dockyard and Solidarity Square. Looking through the windows one can see old apartment houses and a panorama of old Gdansk. The railway station is a convenient 800 metres away.

Aureus, opened in 2007, distinguishes itself as being elegant among the residential buildings that surround it. This boutique hotel consists of three reconstructed houses: one of brick, one bright green, and the third light pink. There are internal stairways to move from one building to another. The stylish meeting-room and one third of all the hotel rooms have walls of exposed 18-century bricks. Moreover, decorative wallpapers, wooden backrests for the beds, tie beams and floors all help create a special atmosphere for the hotel. Rooms are decorated predominantly in beige. All standard single and double rooms, deluxe rooms and suites are equipped with bathrooms, free Internet, cable TV with LCD screens, safe-boxes, kettles, and are suitable for allergic you. If anyone visiting the restaurant would like to learn what molecular cuisine is all about should try the banana caviar. There is an elevator available that takes you straight to the bar. Driving to and parking in this part of town is not a problem.
