МЕСТОНАХОЖДЕНИЯ И ХАРАКТЕРИСТИКА ГОСТИНИЦЫ
Ensconced within a mediaeval brick-built corner structure, what is reputed to be the oldest historical building in Gdansk, Gotyk House takes its name from the architectural elements visible both outside and inside. It sits neatly next to Saint Mary's church on Mariacka Street, the most oft-visited road lined with amber shops and art galleries, while other historic attractions are just a few minutes walk away. The central train station is a calm 20 minute walk away.
Two stone pillars depicting religious motifs mark the entrance to this charming and characterful bolt-hole in the historic Old Town. Interiors are decorated with knight’s swords, metal chandeliers, barrels, and doors reminiscent of a castle. Living quarters boast hardwood floors, rustic-style furnishings (save for the two rooms with cool Scandinavian fittings), cable TV, wireless Internet access and modern bathrooms. The reception provides practical information, and is situated in the small, stylish breakfast room that also serves as a meeting place for you. Some of the most memorable hotels in the world bear witness to intriguing stories and historic happenings, and Gotyk House has it's own unique tale to tell. Based on artifacts found during excavations, it is believed that this building was the one-time house of Anne Schilling, the beautiful housekeeper and confidant of Nicholas Copernicus who briefly lived in Gdansk. The hotel's basement now pays a museum-style homage to the man who stopped the world and sells his beloved Kopernik gingerbread and sweets.
