Start is located at the point where the Kapelana Highway intersects with Brozka and Grota Roweckiego. It takes about 20 minutes by a direct bus or tram from stop Borsucza Kobierzynska to the main train station and 15 minutes to the city centre. Nearby is the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy, a popular stop for Catholic pilgrims. A mega Tesco store is located just opposite the hotel.
The Start occupies a forlorn 80s office block at the junction of a busy crossroads. The hotel has an institutional feel, with its lino floors and big school notice boards advertising city events. Rooms are arranged over five floors with a restaurant cum bar in the basement. Spartan sleeping spaces are fitted out with the minimum essentials for a stay, although some furnishings are showing a good bit of wear and tear. Shower rooms are clean and basic. Light snoozers can ask for a room on the other side of the hotel to the roundabout. The Start could be the perfect place for large groups, especially youngsters, mates on a jaunt or anyone watching their purse strings.
