The Aria Hotel is in the town of Sosnowiec, which takes around 15 minutes to reach by bus or cab from Katowice. It's also the nearest hotel to Katowice Airport, which takes about 20 minutes in a cab. Sosnowiec is primarily a business town, though it does have several areas of parkland which are ideal for walking and biking through.
The Aria Hotel opened its doors in 1975 and is gradually being updated to suit 21st century tastes. A combination of apartments, superiors and standard rooms are on offer - the main difference being new furnishings and decor in higher-end sleeping spaces. Standard rooms feature a light cream colour scheme, plus tea and coffee-making facilities and free Wi-Fi. Superiors have had a bit of a make-over and sport chocolate upholstered furnishings, although all are let-down by cheap looking fitted units. Still the restaurant boasts a designer gleam and overlooks the gardens with its summer grill bar. Plenty of conference space on the ground floor means the Aria would be the perfect location for a convention or business brainstorming session.
