Anchored in the verdant, ecological preservation zone some 15 kilometres south-west of Gdansk, 4 Pory Roku is a modern hotel complex that has given home to the International Power Industry Training Centre since 2003. As a result, some features of industrial architecture have been added to the four-storey front structure, such as towers with spires, matching that of the power station next door. It's located away from busy localities and public transport is also complicated, so it's best approached by car via the Straszyn-Bakowo road. Other major roads nearby include the Tri-City ringroad (3 kilometres) or the Gdansk-Starograd road (2 kilometres). Attractions in close proximity include the Radunia River gorge, are a historic power station built in 1910 and a lake.
Seasonal elements are front and centre at this vast hotel complex (it's name translating to four seasons), from the room decor to the orangery and winter garden, plus the restaurant's changing international dishes. The complex itself consists of three interconnected buildings containing a restaurant and conference rooms, and hotel rooms. All units come with low-slung beds, wood furniture, satellite TV, Wi-Fi Internet access and bathrooms with shower stalls, but a select few have balconies and suits additionally boast minibars, pull-out sofas, plasma TV screens and air-conditioning. Corporate events are held in Uroczysko Cottage under a canopy with a small fish smokehouse, in the Red October pub with its billiards and fireplaces; orangery with rattan furniture and garden pond populated by golden fish, or in the more straightforward conference facilities. There's also a sauna, gym, billiard table and the outside volleyball area.
