The hotel is located in southeastern part of Zakopane, in Pardalowka beside the Droga do Olczy road, on the edge of town, and about a half an hour’s walk from the centre – or more quickly if using a minibus. It is close to the Nosal, Koziniec and Antalowka ski lifts, as well as the edge of the Tatra National Park. From the hotel windows, there is a view on the mountains, neighbouring guesthouses and villas, as well as the free, monitored car park beside the hotel building.
Opened in 2000, Skalny is one of the few certified hotels outside of Zakopane’s centre. Away from the road, and with its side towards this road, Skalny has visible and traditional features of the local architecture, but is modern inside, arranged similarly to many of the newest hotels in the country, and geared to amusement, sport and health. The room rate usually includes the use of the small, heated, indoor swimming pool, with upstreams, cascade, Jacuzzi, sauna, the fitness room, billiards and table tennis. At your disposal there is also a solarium, squash court, playground and children’s room, a grill in a small garden, cafe, and air-conditioned, regionally stylised restaurant offering Polish cuisine. Massage, spa treatments and swimming lessons are offered, too. The rooms are of different standards, with studios, and suites intended for 1-4 persons arranged on four levels, all in different colours, dominated by pastels, pink and apricot. They are equipped with locally produced, standard, wooden furniture, white bedding, bathrooms with showers, cable TV with a wide choice of channels, and telephones. Most rooms have balconies. A few rooms on the ground floor and the conference room have a high-speed Internet connection. The walls are decorated with paintings with motives from Zakopane. In the lobby there is a big aquarium and fireplace, and also a bar with rattan furniture.
