Despite economy problems in Poland, Sucha experiences clear progress. The unemployment rate is much lower than the Polish average, which may attest to resourcefulness and entrepreneurship of locals. Moreover, the town’s numerous values, such as a good location and access to numerous means of transport, are a natural incitement for potential investors. Additionally, Sucha Beskidzka becomes increasingly important education centre. In recent years as much as three universities have emerged here. Sucha’s situation is a paradise for everyone who enjoys spending their spare time actively. Amateur skiers will surely appreciate a close proximity to slopes and mountain hiking enthusiasts will be delighted by the local trails. In Sucha there are as much as four mountain trails: red (Sucha Beskidzka Rail Station – Przyslop pass – Zawoja Centre), black (Sucha Beskidzka Rail Station – Zawoja Przyslop – Zawoja Dolna), green (Sucha Beskidzka Rail Station – Lipska Gora – Lipie pass – Kozie Skaly – Krzeszow – Smrekowica – Gibasy – Kocierz) and blue (Sucha Beskidzka bus station – Mioduszyna – Makow Podhalański). Except for all these values, Sucha may boast of many interesting monuments. Worth visiting are: a mannerist castle called Little Wawel, which is a current seat of local community centre, Monastery of Canons Regular from the 17th century, Neo-gothic church designed by Teodor Talowski from the beginning of the 20th century and wooden Rzym inn from the 18th century.

Sucha Beskidzka is the seat of Sucha county, which is located in the Southwest of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. The town lies in the Stryszawka and Skawa river valleys, in the Beskid Zywiecki mountain range. Currently, it is populated by approximately 10 thousand people. For many years Sucha Beskidzka has been a local administrative economic centre.

The first records about Sucha settlement come from 1405. At that time it was owned by the Slupski family, who in 1554 sold it to Krakovian silversmith Gaspare Castiglione. Later, Sucha changed hands many times. It was owned by the Komorowski, the Wielopolski, the Branicki and at last the Tarnowski families. The 18th and 19th centuries were not easy for Sucha.
