Bialowieza and its surroundings are nicknamed “the exotic Poland”. The primaeval forest is ruled by the mighty Zubr, the European bison. Here you can find its greatest population in the world. This destination is often selected also for the cultural heritage of the region. There are strong national Belarussian, Ukrainian and Lithuanian minorities in the area.
